With Liebermanns' Eyes/Ogen
                                                           -  anders Gezien - different seen -

A dutch-germans'  etchings-projekt 2007 - 2008 of the Graphische Gesellschaft Leer and the Stichting Grafisch Erfgoed Orvelte, NL  on the occasion of Max Liebermanns' 160th birthday (1847 - 1935)

During 40 years (1872 - 1913) Max Liebermann took many visits to the  Netherlands in order to draw and to paint with his friends Jozef and Isaac Israels, George Breitner and Jan Veth and many others at the province Drenthe, at Amsterdam and at the coast. In June 1882 Liebermann travelled on his way to Holland with the new railway through Leer to Nieuweschans und Groningen, in order to get to Zweeloo in Drenthe.
In June 2007 four dutch und six german etchers were travelling for a workshop at Zweeloo and Aalden and worked there at the places where Liebermann also was drawing and painting. In September they visited the coast from Noordwijk and Katwijk to find more motives at the beach.
The results of the workshops reflect the changes at the localities which once Liebermann has seen.
